Grief is a weird thing

Hey y’all, it’s Uncle Nick.

For those who don’t know, I lost both my mother and father this year, my father passing back in January and my mother later in April, and today would have been my father’s birthday.

Now it may seem weird that I’m making a blog post about my late dad’s birthday, and I’m not doing it for the sympathy or the attention, I’m doing it in hopes someone can feel like they’re not alone if they’re going through the same thing.

My father wasn’t much of a good man to me growing up, sure, he worked himself to death to provide for me and my mother, as my siblings had all moved on and started their own families at that point (I was late to the party, I guess) but when he was home, he was very negative about everything, and as I grew up, him and my mother would tell me that if my hobbies didn’t make money then what was the point of them?

My father was a textbook narcissist, always putting me down, always telling me my ideas weren’t worth anything, telling me that I was wasting my money and that I would never amount to anything, and to that I say….

I proved him and my mother both wrong

Sure, I spent a lot of money on hobbies that really didn’t take off, and the only reason I was really doing them was to try and make money on the side as I was working a real job and trying to help myself reach my goals financially, but to no avail.

But now that I am disabled, doing streaming is a fun thing to do besides sitting around and being in pain all the time.

I see that they were wrong.

I’ve built such an awesome community of amazing people and friends that I wouldn’t trade for anything.

After I moved out and got married to my lovely, supportive wife, they started seeing the error of their ways, hearing about me through them communicating to my wife as a sort of middleman because I didn’t want to lay eyes on them for a long, long time. But I changed my mind after they started to get sicker and sicker, especially after my paternal grandmother passed away in January of 2024.

We started to reconnect slowly, and they finally understood what I was trying to convey. However, they also held onto old phrases and gaslighting techniques. Nevertheless, my wife saw through their ways and supported me when they made me upset time and time again.

Around Thanksgiving of 2024, I began to see that my dad was, in fact, dying. Months prior, he told me that the doctors found a windowmaker blood clot in his heart, that, if not taken care of, he would surely die. He said he would go get it seen about, but he cancelled his cardiology appointment.

I could sense it; he was growing weaker, depending on my older sister and nephew to help him and my mother around the house, because I was trying to work on building a life for myself, and that’s one of the things I’m thankful they understood.

That, despite everything, I was still trying.

Even though it was out of spite, to prove him and my mother wrong, that I would amount to something, that one of my hobbies would shoot me into the limelight. I still would hope for their validation and to be told by them, finally, that they were proud of me.

Early January of 2025, my wife woke me up and told me that my father had a heart attack and was on the way to the hospital. I quickly got dressed and got in my car, and began to weep.

I wept for my father, not because he was the one who always made sure I had a roof over my head, not because I was still looking for his validation, but because I wasn’t ready to lose him so soon, although he was already very ill.

My father passed away at the age of 68, and there are some days I wish he had taken better care of himself and seen his doctors, and eaten healthier, but he was a man who had a troubling childhood, and a rough start to adulthood himself, and always seemed to be angry about something, but always made sure his kids we’re taken care of, and had what they needed. And for that, I am thankful for my dad.

Happy birthday dad, I miss you every day.

Your son, Nick

Official Stream Mascot!

Hey y’all, it’s Uncle Nick!

It’s been a couple of days since my last blog post, and I wanted to update y’all on whats been happening as of recent behind the scenes!

We’re gonna start with the elephant in the room and that WE NOW HAVE A MASCOT FOR STREAMS NOW!

Her name is Bitty, and she’s a CRT Monitor for an Old 90s-era Computer! If you are a TikTok subscriber or Twitch Follower/subscriber, you may have noticed the new emotes of hers. It took a lot of brainstorming between my good friend Kieran and I, to come up with what emotes we would like Bitty to have and how to size them correctly so they do not look tiny on Twitch. I also want to thank Kieran for the Original Design of Bitty 1.0 and the amazing early designs they made! Below, you will see a photo of Bitty 1.0, Bitty 2.0 and some of the Bitty 2.0 Emotes that are available now for Twitch Followers, Twitch Subscribers, and TikTok Subscribers.

Some Bitty 2.0 Emotes!

With Bitty being our new official mascot, I hope that in the future, I will be able to have merch produced to better fund stream and to make the viewing experience of my streams higher quality, and to provide more entertainment value, such as new games, and collabs with other streamers!

Thanks for reading,

Stream and Graphics Update

Here is a bit of an update in regards to yesterday’s stream test.

Yesterday’s Multi-Stream test was a success in terms of performance, quality, and functionality. Although I did notice some quirks with some things regarding chat and the chat program, I found that was meant to be able to pick up on all the chats from all 4 platforms.

The program I used for that was “Casterlabs Caffeinated,” which is a program where you can link your Twitch and all other platforms you stream on and combine them into one window, same thing with event alerts. However, there was a significant noticeable lag with messages popping up between 5-20 seconds after receiving them on the original platform’s chat window, and some messages wouldn’t even show up at all. So for future reference, I will no longer be using Casterlabs to manage my stream chats, and will either be testing an alternative to Casterlabs called “Social Stream Ninja,” which seems to offer the same, if not a tad bit more functionality than Casterlabs.”

Now with OBS and TikTok Live Studio, I decided to try and run TikTok Live Studio’s screen input separately from OBS, and it worked as expected, if not better, minus the fact that I had to turn up my microphone through TikTok Live Studio to where people can hear me better. I also found out that as long as I keep the windows open, but run them in the background behind whatever game I’m playing (Such as I’ve done in the past with my Vtuber Software) It’ll run just fine without glitching and causing the streams to be a black screen, and with that being said, Both OBS and TikTok Live Studio have to be controlled with my StreamDeck which isnt a problem, just a bit of a hurdle to try and get used to it!

Graphical Update

For those who don’t know, I love nostalgia. I grew up in a lower-middle-class household to where when CDs became mainstream and also the introduction of Blu-Ray, my family was still using VHS Tapes. We didn’t have cable internet; we were still stuck with dial-up internet for almost 8 years of my life. And with that being said, as I got older, I fell in love with the Old PC aesthetic (Windows 95, 98, XP, etc).

I miss the days of the Older late 90s, early 2000s internet, if you can’t tell by how this website looks, and with that, my stream assets don’t match that vibe very much.

But starting today, I am happy to announce that I am currently in the process of integrating a new look into my streams, and below you will find an example of what those future streams will look like with the new rendition of my Starting Screen and the Gameplay screen featuring my Vtuber avatar.

All of the assets are still a work in progress as of this writing, but I sincerely hope that you will all enjoy this change, as this change means a lot to me, and I hope that in the future we can further expand upon this aesthetic.

Stream Testing

Hey folks! Here’s a bit of an update in regards to multi-streaming and finally wanting to branch out to other platforms.

I’ve discovered a program that enables me to be able to see all chats, and notifications (I.E Follows, Subs, Gifts, Bits, Etc.) which is great news! And either today or tomorrow, as of writing, I will be testing its functionality with a test stream to my Twitch via OBS and a Tiktok stream via TikTok Live Studio.

In technical terms, Regular OBS has a plugin that allows multistreaming to all other platforms besides TikTok because TikTok does not currently have the functionality to offer a Static Streamkey unlike platforms such as Twitch and Kick.

This means I’m going to have to window capture the OBS program window and slap it onto Tiktok Studios View Window to be able to stream to both Twitch and TikTok at the same instance.

Now, I have hope that this will work just fine but there are a few things I may encounter that will add onto the difficulty such as when OBS is minimized, TikTok Live Studio’s window capture of OBS disappears entirely and the feed for TikTok Live Studio turns into a black screen.

Another thing as well is that I will not be able to connect my OBS microphone to TikTok Live Studio’s own microphone input which as far as I’m aware, is different in voice and audio quality, however, If it does not work in my favor and TikTok Live Studio is as they say “Dog Shit Quality”, then I have Option B

What is Option B?

Option B will be simple, but at the same time the easy and poorest way out and that would be using a Restream Service such as “Restream.io”

Now Restream.io is a great option to be able to Multistream to multiple platforms, but with a steep pricetag, which because I don’t stream for money like I’ve stated in streams before, will be almost impossible to pay for as I am disabled and my wife is the primary breadwinner of the household.

The Price to be able to Stream to All Platforms: Twitch, Tiktok, Kick, Youtube, is only going to cost the low low price of $49.00 USD A MONTH?! (or $470,00 USD a year).

Now default, the free version of Restream.io only lets you stream to Two Channels at a time, which if I’m only using it to stream from OBS to Tiktok Live isnt necesarily a bad thing. HOWEVER, if you dont pay for a subcription plan Restream.io slaps a big RESTREAM logo in the upper right corner of every stream that you feed through their website, so it’ll look like a newbie streamer (which I somewhat am) is using a free service to be able to do such a simple thing and stream to multiple platforms and in my opinion, isn’t a good look.

If I want the basic plan to just even remove the logo is still a charge of $19.00 USD a month (or $190.00 USD a year) which isn’t necesarrily bad, its just, steep in price for me atleast. and comparing that to Streamlabs Ultra which is $27.00 USD per month (or $189.00 USD per year) and Streamlabs allows you to be able to broadcast to up to 7 different sites.

In the meantime, the test of Option A will continue as planned, and I will be coming up with a way to pay for Streamlabs Ultra incase all else fails.

A New Beginning (✪‿✪)ノ

Hey friends, and welcome to my new website!

This is the start of something I’ve been dreaming about for a while—a place where I can share updates, stories, and thoughts beyond just what happens on stream. Think of it as our little campfire spot on the internet: a cozy hideout where you can always stop by and feel at home.

Why This Website?

Streaming has been a huge part of my life since 2020. I started out on Mixer (RIP 🕊️), then moved to Twitch, and along the way I’ve been exploring new platforms. As of last year, I’ve been streaming on Tiktok Live, and now I’m expanding even further into Youtube and Kick Each platform has brought new faces, new energy, and new opportunities to grow this community.

That’s why I wanted to create a website. It’s not just about me—it’s about us. This will be the hub where I share updates, plans, and maybe even some behind-the-scenes thoughts that don’t make it onto stream.

What You Can Expect

Here’s what I plan to post here:

  • Updates on my VTuber journey and platform expansions
  • Thoughts and reflections on streaming, life, and everything in between
  • Community highlights, because y’all are the best part of this
  • And of course, a healthy dose of fun and nonsense (because it wouldn’t be me otherwise)

The Road Ahead ~(≧ω≦)~

This is just the beginning. I’ve got big dreams for where I want to take my content, and even bigger hopes for the kind of community we’re building. If you’re here at the start—thank you. You’re part of something special, and I’m so excited for what’s next.

So grab a seat, get comfy, and let’s make this place shine together.
