Stream Testing

Hey folks! Here’s a bit of an update in regards to multi-streaming and finally wanting to branch out to other platforms.

I’ve discovered a program that enables me to be able to see all chats, and notifications (I.E Follows, Subs, Gifts, Bits, Etc.) which is great news! And either today or tomorrow, as of writing, I will be testing its functionality with a test stream to my Twitch via OBS and a Tiktok stream via TikTok Live Studio.

In technical terms, Regular OBS has a plugin that allows multistreaming to all other platforms besides TikTok because TikTok does not currently have the functionality to offer a Static Streamkey unlike platforms such as Twitch and Kick.

This means I’m going to have to window capture the OBS program window and slap it onto Tiktok Studios View Window to be able to stream to both Twitch and TikTok at the same instance.

Now, I have hope that this will work just fine but there are a few things I may encounter that will add onto the difficulty such as when OBS is minimized, TikTok Live Studio’s window capture of OBS disappears entirely and the feed for TikTok Live Studio turns into a black screen.

Another thing as well is that I will not be able to connect my OBS microphone to TikTok Live Studio’s own microphone input which as far as I’m aware, is different in voice and audio quality, however, If it does not work in my favor and TikTok Live Studio is as they say “Dog Shit Quality”, then I have Option B

What is Option B?

Option B will be simple, but at the same time the easy and poorest way out and that would be using a Restream Service such as “Restream.io”

Now Restream.io is a great option to be able to Multistream to multiple platforms, but with a steep pricetag, which because I don’t stream for money like I’ve stated in streams before, will be almost impossible to pay for as I am disabled and my wife is the primary breadwinner of the household.

The Price to be able to Stream to All Platforms: Twitch, Tiktok, Kick, Youtube, is only going to cost the low low price of $49.00 USD A MONTH?! (or $470,00 USD a year).

Now default, the free version of Restream.io only lets you stream to Two Channels at a time, which if I’m only using it to stream from OBS to Tiktok Live isnt necesarily a bad thing. HOWEVER, if you dont pay for a subcription plan Restream.io slaps a big RESTREAM logo in the upper right corner of every stream that you feed through their website, so it’ll look like a newbie streamer (which I somewhat am) is using a free service to be able to do such a simple thing and stream to multiple platforms and in my opinion, isn’t a good look.

If I want the basic plan to just even remove the logo is still a charge of $19.00 USD a month (or $190.00 USD a year) which isn’t necesarrily bad, its just, steep in price for me atleast. and comparing that to Streamlabs Ultra which is $27.00 USD per month (or $189.00 USD per year) and Streamlabs allows you to be able to broadcast to up to 7 different sites.

In the meantime, the test of Option A will continue as planned, and I will be coming up with a way to pay for Streamlabs Ultra incase all else fails.
